Suffice it to say her passing the full letter to Time (click on link) suggests that she considered it an extraordinary issue. Seeking "whistleblower" status indicates that she was concerned about retaliation.

I have been an FBI agent for over 21 years and, for what it's worth, have never received any form of disciplinary action throughout my career. From the 5th grade, when I first wrote the FBI and received the "100 Facts about the FBI" pamphlet, this job has been my dream. I feel that my career in the FBI has been somewhat exemplary, having entered on duty at a time when there was only a small percentage of female Special Agents. I have also been lucky to have had four children during my time in the FBI and am the sole breadwinner of a family of six. Due to the frankness with which I have expressed myself and my deep feelings on these issues, (which is only because I feel I have a somewhat unique, inside perspective of the Moussaoui matter, the gravity of the events of September 11th and the current seriousness of the FBI's and United States' ongoing efforts in the "war against terrorism"), I hope my continued employment with the FBI is not somehow placed in jeopardy. I have never written to an FBI Director in my life before on any topic. Although I would hope it is not necessary, I would therefore wish to take advantage of the federal "Whistleblower Protection" provisions by so characterizing my remarks.

That Congress nor anyone else has never disciplined any of those who bungled 9/11, including this case, is very troubling. At best it appears some folks in the FBI were criminally negligent, at worst aiding the hijackers. If it were not for the internet, it seems certain this story would have been buried forever. Kevin Ryan

Kevin Ryan is the former Site Manager for Environmental Health Laboratories, a division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Mr. Ryan, a Chemist and laboratory manager, was fired by UL in 2004 for publicly questioning the report being drafted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on their World Trade Center investigation. In the intervening period, Ryan has completed additional research while his original questions, which have become increasingly important over time, remain unanswered by UL or NIST. From: ULtruth

While whistle blowers have commonly been threatened, fired, harassed or died unexpectedly it appears that not a single person was even reprimanded for the many colossal mistakes on 9/11. In fact many of those in key positions were promoted. Lee Hamilton of the 911 Commission said their job was not to fix blame and both parties sat on their hands and let it go. WHY?

Steven E Jones

While Dr. Steven Jones was not one of the many 911 whistle blowers per se, he certainly fits the mold. For example, like them, great lengths went to silence him, and like him, they did not make the good side of Fox news. First there was the federal official who threatened that if he did not cease to speak out, he would make sure that Jones lost his job at BYU. Then, when that did not work to stifle him he offered to secure Jones a large grant from homeland security if he would change his research away from 9/11 (information from Dr Jones). When that didn’t work, Dr. Jones did lose his job and then fell victim to a smear campaign.

Fortunately his international reputation preceded him and prominent scientists joined him. The scientific rigor that he and other scholars brought to the movement

Steve Jones took an offer of early retirement. With that he had more time to devote to research and the use of the facilities at BYU. It was there, with access to equipment like electron microscopes, that he first discovered the presence of microspheres in dust samples from the towers. They indicated temperatures only possible with extremely high temperatures such as with thermite. Later, he was able to prove the presence of undetonated nanotherimite in samples taken from various locations found around New York, some as early as 10 minutes after the first tower fell. It is said that thermite can be gotten on Ebay. Nanothermite cannot. Check the links for complete information.

All 21 Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee voted for the first article of impeachment against President Nixon.
Only 6 Republicans voted for it while 17 Republicans voted against it.

December 19, 1998 –
Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, President Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228-206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221-212 vote) entirely on party lines except for four Republicans and five Democrats.

In matters of keeping leadership under control it appears you can only expect justice and the American people to be served if you assume that the party with the most votes does so on the side of justice.

Insurance Companies Prosper, families suffer

From an article in Healthreform.Gov

“Recent economic data show that profits for the ten largest insurance companies increased 250 percent between 2000 and 2009, ten times faster than inflation.” (see footnotes 12 & 13 at link)

So while the Democrats try to push a national health care program, the Republicans focus on blocking it because they don’t want socialized medicine. (Or is it that they are focused on sinking Obama? Sometimes it is hard to tell.)

Wouldn’t it make sense to focus on what can be done like finding a way to make insurance companies honestly competitive? It is pretty clear that there is more interest in power politics than helping the most vulnerable people in society.

FOREVER TAX REFORM

One of the most disconcerting things about our two party system is the unending chain of promises from “both parties” to simplify the tax code. Yet after decades of “reform” we still have a code that is so complex that an entire industry is built on tax preparation and reporting and the riches Americans have loopholes that elude the rest of us. Warren Buffet noted that every one of his office staff pays more in taxes than he does. Unless Americans build a different political box to think in it is sure to stay that way.
