Two Times 2.2 Trillion Dollars Unaccounted For

The day before the attacks in New York and Washington Donald Rumsfeld announced that the pentagon could not account for about 2.3 trillion dollars. That seemed to be forgotten when the “War on Terror began”.

That is over seven thousand dollars for every man woman and child in the Unites States and several times the annual budget for our military. And we don’t know what has been done with it.

Bernake refusal



This month (Feb 2010) Ben Bernake refused to make the budget for the federal reserve known, even to congress. And congress still voted to renew his contract. That is another $2.2 trillion dollars unaccounted for. Who but our government could ever get away with that kind of gross looseness? And from both sides of the isle!

Senator Bayh Retires in Frustration

Years ago a political science professor predicted that Richard Nixon would win the Republican nomination for president because he had so many political favors out. Despite seeming to loose the popular vote in most of the primaries but Nixon still won the nomination. The popular primary vote did not appear to have as much weight as political favors and party leadership support. Watergate came along and the next election went to “the other party”.

When Bill Clinton got caught up in his own scandal, the Democratic Party leadership stood behind him virtually 100% to keep him from being thrown out of the White House early. Never mind that it was court martial offense in the military or that intelligence services screen for that sort of activity as a national security risk. The next election went to "the other party".

It is obvious that too many Americans voted against the Republicans than for Democratic candidates in the latest election. Republican still have not learned that Americans do not like leaders with party loyalty over true patriotism. Recently Senator Evan Bayh announced he was retiring because ‘There is too much partisanship and not enough progress-too much narrow ideology and not enough practical problem solving.’ In other words, the Democrats are no different.
